Cities and their Underground Environment
II European Conference of International Association for Engineering Geology
From 15th to 19th September 2008, Euroengeo 2008 will be taking place in Madrid, a Forum which will hold meetings and exchanges of ideas and knowledge between specialists and experts in the field of Geology applied to engineering.

On this occasion, the main theme of the congress will be fundamentally based on "The City and its underground environment".
This however does not imply any restriction for other related fields of activity in this second edition of Euroengeo.

Euroengeo has been organised by A.E.G.A.I.N and I.A.E.G, in colaboration with the Polytechnic University of Madrid.

I.A.E.G., the International Association for Engineering Geology and the environment, is a global scientific organisation with over 5.200 members and 59 national groups.

The main goals of I.A.E.G are:

_ To stimulate the progress of engeneering geology through research and technological activities.

- To improve the cuality of engeneering geology studies.

- To gather, evaluate and promote the results of all activities related to engeneering geology worldwide.

Euroengeo has the complete support of some of the leading institutions (Comunidad de Madrid, City Council, public entities…)

The inauguration will take place at 09:30 am at the Escuela de Obras Públicas on September 15th.
